Enterprise Energy Ireland has secured a petroleum lease for the Corrib gas field off the Mayo coastline. The lease, granted by the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources Mr Fahey, was signed yesterday. It is the only lease to be issued under the 1975 and 1992 exploration licensing rounds.
Enterprise Energy Ireland must now submit its development plan and application for foreshore licence to bring the fuel ashore. The firm said yesterday it expected to submit the development plan, including environmental impact statements, by the middle of next week.
