Kodak to shed jobs

EASTMAN Kodak will cut 4,000 jobs worldwide in the next 12 to 18 months, a company spokesman said yesterday. Kodak yesterday reported fourth quarter earnings which included a £256 million restructuring charge. The spokesman said most of the job cuts would be outside the United States. He said new hiring in areas of the business that are growing would more than likely offset the cuts and that the company's employment should remain level. Kodak had 96,000 employees worldwide at the end of 1995, he said.
