The Brothers Industries plant in Drogheda, Co Louth, has been bought by a Japanese firm which has plans for its further development. The Drogheda manufacturer of electronic control boards employs 100 people. RyuSyo Industrial Co Ltd, a family owned firm, is in discussion with IDA Ireland regarding its future plans which could lead to further employment.

The Japanese company employs 600 people in Japan and 1,000 in China. Last year it had an operating profit of €7 million (£5.5 million) from a turnover of €111 million. The Drogheda operation will be developed into RyuSyo's European headquarters.
