IT network systems such as intranet are used more by small and medium-sized firms in the Republic and the North than by their counterparts in Britain, according to research commissioned by telecoms company Nortel Networks. The poll of 200 managing and financial directors in the Republic, Britain and the North showed that 52 per cent of Irish firms surveyed had adopted intranet technology, compared with 35 per cent in Britain.
