Andor Technology, a Belfast-based company that makes specialist digital cameras, has said first-half results will be in line with expectations.

In a trading update for six months of the financial year, the company said the Asia Pacific region “continues to deliver strong growth in both order intake and sales”.

Europe was also performing well against a difficult funding backdrop, the company said, and would show growth over last year.

It expects order intake from the Americas to be slightly down on the same period last year.

The company noted the trend of longer purchasing cycles and the holding of reduced stock as a result of the global recession.

Andor expects margins to improve in the first half of the current financial year.

The company was set up in 1989 out of Queen’s University in Belfast. It now employs more than 300 people in 16 offices worldwide.
