Global Telesystems Group and Esprit Telecom have agreed a deal said to be worth $4.1 billion (£2.75 billion) which will see Global buy all Esprit's outstanding shares. Irish company ITL, which claims to be says it is the third largest service provider of telecoms in Ireland, is part of Global through a subsidiary called Netsource.
