First Active remuneration

The three executive directors of First Active shared a total remuneration package of just over £1 million last year, according the bank's annual report.

The £1.02 million (€1.3 million) remuneration for managing director Mr John Smyth, finance director Mr Tony Shanahan and operations director Mr Paul Reville compares with £1.4 million in 1997. It is not, however, directly comparable with this period as Mr Gerry Murphy was on the then First National Building Society board until September 1997 when he resigned.
