A BOOST in exports helped Britain cut its visible trade deficit with the rest of the world in March by more than City forecasts, according to official figures published yesterday.

Britain's deficit in trade with the rest of the world fell to £802 million sterling from £1.32 billion in February.

Economists had forecast that the trade gap would narrow to £1 billion.
