Irish consumers are more concerned about getting value for money following the introduction of the single currency than other EU nationals, according to a new survey.

The survey, in Euro Insight magazine found that Irish consumers are more concerned about getting value for money and about price inflation than those in Paris or London.

According to the survey the French place most emphasis on getting bargains on higher value products such as holidays and electronic products, while the British have the highest tendency to expect savings across a very broad range of products.

The Irish on the other hand, according to Euro Insight director Mr Alan Taylor, a former marketing director of the Burton Group, have the keenest eye for Euro fairness.
