Retailers in the North planning to accept euro notes and coins from January 1st have been warned they could face fines of up to £5,000 sterling (€8,040) if they do not clearly display conversion rates and commission charges.
The Trading Standards Service in Northern Ireland has issued guidelines to retailers ahead of the introduction of the euro, which are intended to protect consumers.
