The ESB has been awarded nine megawatts (MW) of electricity capacity in Northern Ireland in the competitive process for the first 100 MW available there under the new deregulated regime. "This is a preliminary step for ESB in entering the Northern Ireland electricity market, as part of its long-term intention to become an all-Ireland supplier," the State company stated.
