The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland is the latest business organisation to call for a reinstatement of the ceiling on employer PRSI contributions in next week's budget. It said the Government should revisit the issue in light of the downturn in the high-tech sector in particular and the general softening of the labour market.

It also said that expenditure curbs in the Budget should be targeted at current Government spending which continues to grow too quickly.
