EDS, the US information technology services group, took advantage of tumbling valuations on Germany's Neuer Markt by launching its largest offer for a European company with a $570 million (#646 million) cash and shares bid for Systematics, a German rival. The deal was the biggest foreign acquisition of a Neuer Markt-listed company. Systematics and EDS both have a presence in Ireland.
