Dana, the Irish exploration company, said yesterday a new North Sea well had yielded a "significant" gas discovery, with combined rates of about 24 million cubic feet per day. The company holds a 15 per cent interest in Dutch North Sea block A15, with Wintershall Noordzee BV and Marathon controlling the remaining 85 per cent. Dana said the find represented its fourth successive exploration success. In trading, the company's shares rose 1p to 13p sterling, the level reached earlier this month when rumours of the discovery emerged.
