The Ambassador Hotel in Cork is the latest member of the Best Western Hotels chain in Ireland, part of the world's largest hotel group with nearly 4,000 properties worldwide.

The hotel, formerly a military hospital and built in 1872, was opened as a 60-bedroom hotel in 1997 and will become an associate member of the chain. Best Western has 30 hotels around Ireland, employing around 2,500 hotel staff and 70 staff in its Dublin call centre.
