Conduit will build three call centres in the UK to cope with extra demand created by the decision by the British regulator yesterday to open its directory inquiry market to competition. Conduit welcomed the decision which will enable consumers to choose their directory provider by using a new five-digit number. Conduit is likely to face competition from newcomer Telegate, as well as the incumbent operator in the UK, BT.
