DEVELOPMENT LAND:A HIGH PROFILE three-acre site with planning permission for the first retail warehousing park in Athy, Co Kildare, is expected to make in the region of €2.5 million when it is auctioned by estate agent Bryan O'Doherty on May 20th.

The site is off a new roundabout being built along the Dublin road, at the entrance to the town. An estimated 17,000 motor vehicles pass the site on a daily basis.

There is full planning consent for seven buildings with a total area of 5,000sq m (54,000sq ft) and 172 car-parking spaces.

Another four acres close by has been acquired by Telfords, the hardware group which forms part of the Grafton Group, and the expectation is that it will attempt to have it rezoned from industrial use to retail warehousing.
