Chartbusters store for rent

Waterford-based Purcell Properties is quoting a rent of €60,000 per annum for the former Chartbusters store at the busy Ardkeen shopping centre on the Dunmore road in Waterford. The premises extends to 250sq m (2,700sq ft) including a mezzanine with 55sq m (600sq ft). It can be used for many retail uses as well as leisure, fashion or sports. Around 2,000 homes have been built in the immediate area since the 1970s. Ardkeen is 2km from the Waterford Regional Hospital.

New Boots for Limerick

UK chemist multiple Boots has opened one of its largest Irish stores at Childers Road Retail Park in Limerick city. The group will be paying a rent of around €250,000 for a 959sq m (10,322sq ft) shop. Boots now has 55 outlets in the Republic. The retail park, which is asset managed by Alanis Capital on behalf of a group of investors, is by far the most successful outside of Dublin. It has a retail area of 25,000sq m (279,225sq ft) and is anchored by a 5,500sq m (59,201sq ft) Dunnes Stores which trades around the clock. Other tenants include Next, Wallis, Burtons, Dorothy Perkins and Argos. Mervyn Ellis of letting agent HWBC says all the retail space is now fully occupied. Bogle Estates are joint letting agents; DTZ Sherry FitzGerald acted for Boots.

Pamela Scott opens in Navan

Fashion multiple Pamela Scott has opened a large new store at Navan shopping centr, the 22nd store in Sean Barron’s retail group. The company is likely to have agreed a base rent as well as 10 per cent of turnover for its lease of 155sq m (1,665sq ft) beside Dunnes Stores’ fashion/homewares outlet. Also moving into the Navan centre is Art Hobby and Gazebo. Louise Donnelly of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald handled the lettings.

Multinational's Citywest move

Trulife, a multinational company specialising in the development and marketing of medical devices, has relocated its headquarters to Citywest Business Campus in Dublin 24. The company has taken a 10-year lease on 325sq m (3,500sq ft) of offices at Lake Drive in Citywest at a rent of close to €182 per sq m (€17 per sq ft). The deal includes a 12-months rent free period. Frank Cronan of Jones Lang LaSalle said more offices are available at Citywest from 208sq m (2,239 sq ft).
