HOLMES Cash & Carry, part of the J&J Haslett Group, which operates the Mace franchise in Northern Ireland, has announced a Pounds 1 million investment programme in its 14 Northern Ireland outlets.
The investment is seen as a response to increasing competition in the wholesale market and the growing pressure on independent retailers from the supermarket chains.
The Holmes cash and carry operation employs around 170 people.
