Teleworking is now a major catalyst for change and Bigger, Better, Faster (Saturday, 9.30 a.m., RTE1) looks at the issues surrounding this growing trend and how organisations and individuals are learning to deal with it.

The State of Europe (Saturday, 10.05 a.m., RTE1) examines the likelihood of Russia ever becoming economically stable and whether this would lead to membership of the EU.

The Day the World Took Off (Sunday, 8.00 p.m., Channel 4) turns the clock back 1,000 years to discover why industrialisation began in Europe. Volume of labour influenced economies back then too and the East had a huge labour force willing to work so there was little incentive to mechanise.

The programme contrasts the evolution of agriculture and warfare on the fields and battlefields of East and West.
