Bids for telecoms funding due today

Several local/regional authorities and private telecoms firms will submit applications to the Government for public funding to build out telecoms networks in the regions today.

Sources close to the Government believe almost £200 million (€254 million) in investment proposals will be made. One part of the funding call would enable State bodies to build out telecoms networks using 100 per cent public funding.
