In a report entitled “Beacon expansion set to boost staff numbers by 35”, which was published last Wednesday, it was stated that the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centres (UPMC) paid €25 million for a two-thirds share in the Beacon Medical Group last year.
In fact, UPMC invested in the Beacon Hospital itself rather than the Beacon Medical Group, which continues to be owned by its original shareholders.
