Prof John Ringwood won the Enterprise Ireland Industrial Technologies Commercialisation Award for his creation of mathematical models that should allow wave energy firm Wavebob make their devices more efficient.
The technology operates by adapting the resistance settings on the wave energy device to the changing sea conditions.

Prof Ringwood and Wavebob are in collaboration which aims to have the technology applied to a working model in the next 18-months.
