Unions representing over 4,000 Avonmore Waterford Group workers are meeting in Portlaoise tomorrow to decide whether or not to recommend rationalisation proposals to their members. Details of the proposals are not being released ahead of the meeting, but it is thought that less than 1,000 redundancies are being sought amongst the Irish workforce. However, some additional redundancies are also expected abroad, particularly in the group's British operations.
