Arnotts' sales ahead of 1997 as profits rise

Arnotts' sales were significantly ahead of 1997 and profits for the first half-year would show further progress, the group's chairman, Mr Tom Toner, said yesterday at the company's annual general meeting.

He said that Sunday opening hours at the group's three branches in Dublin would begin on September 20th, providing an additional 12 hours of trading a week.
