Ardee plant shuts doors

The largest employer in Ardee, Co Louth, closed its doors yesterday with the loss of 300 jobs. Some of the workers in Hawkes Bay Sportswear (Ireland) have been offered alternative work in other towns. The company announced in early January that it was closing.
