The European carton manufacturing industry is considering taking an anti dumping action against American kraftliner exports, Jefferson Smurfit deputy chairman Mr Dermot Smurfit has stated. Mr Smurfit said that the Kraft Institute, a European industry body, is preparing the anti dumping case.

Speaking at a SBC Warburg investment conference in London, Mr Smurfit said the European industry is assembling a case against the US manufacturers. He said Smurfit was a major player in the industry in Spain and Italy and those markets were suffering from cheap imports.
