Among those who have benefited from financial windfalls over the last few months are: Mr Sean Melly, Mr Bernard Somers, Mr Liam Booth, the main shareholders in TCL Telecom, are to become multimillionaires after the company was bought by WorldCom, the giant US telecommunications group. The company's founder, Mr Melly, received £6.7 million; accountant, Mr Somers, £3.36 million; and shareholder, Mr Booth got £1.68 million.

Dr Pat Loughrey Mr Ronan McNamee of Cuisine de France, who shared £40 million following the takeover by IAWS.

Mr David McKenna, a former plumber from Tallaght who is expected to collect £10£15 million when his recruitment company, Marlborough International, floats on the Dublin and London stock exchanges. He bought the company in 1992 for just £6,000.

Ms Carol Moffett, who received £11 million from the sale of Moffett Engineering to Dungannon-based Powerscreen for £23 million.
