As key players in the facilities management community gathered for a night of networking and celebration, a wide range of impressive operations were showcased at the Facilities Management Awards 2023, now in their tenth year.
The winners of the Facilities Management Awards were announced during a live awards ceremony held at The Crowne Plaza, Santry, Dublin, on March 2nd, 2023 and hosted by author, broadcaster and comedian, Colm O’Regan.
At a packed event over 300 senior FM professionals gathered to celebrate excellence and network. The awards were sponsored by Platinum Sponsors, Sodexo, Mitie, and Tork, an Essity brand; Gold Sponsors, H&J Martin, Synergy Security Solutions, CBRE, Berka Solutions Ltd., ISS Facility Services Ireland, Kärcher Ireland, Williaam Cox, Authenticate, Sensori Facilities Management, Western Hygiene, 360Works McKeon Group, SOS Group, Thorntons Recycling, Aramark; and supported by Amárach Research.
Notable winners on the night included Paul Fitzgerald, recipient of the Facilities Management Leader 2023 Award, and the OPW Phoenix House project submitted by Sensori Facilities Management which took the Grand Prix, Overall Excellence in Facilities Management Award.
Aisling Ryan, chief operations officer at Ryans Cleaning said, “To be recognised by the prestigious Irish Facilities Management Awards expert judging panel as the best Cleaning Service Provider – Specialist is a real honour. It’s a fantastic achievement for our whole team.”
Liam Smith, sales director - Ireland of Essity Professional Hygiene said, “The FM Awards recognise incredible achievements and Tork are proud to be sponsors. Focusing on efficiency, staff satisfaction and sustainability highlights the need to keep developing and enhancing our offer. It was great to meet with so many people, we would like to applaud all finalists, especially the winners.”
Another winner was Fexillon. George Harold, chief executive, said: “Fexillon are delighted to have won the Innovation in Technology and Systems Award. The award recognises the quality and innovation of the Fexillon platform and services, our team, clients and partners. [It was] great to receive the Industry recognition from the judging panel and we look forward to our continued commitment in strategic innovation, secure delivery and support for the FM Industry.”
Joining as a sponsor was Sodexo, whose managing director, David Fox said: “Sodexo is delighted to be associated with these awards. FM is so high up the boardroom agenda now, in terms of workplace, productivity, sustainability, efficiency, it is great to play a part in recognising the outstanding work in the industry. Congratulations to all our finalists and our winners”.
Joining other winners on the podium was Pfizer, whose strategic programme leader - integrated facilities management programme and associate director of engineering, Paul Fitzgerald, said, “The calibre of the awards was very high. It goes to shows the broad specs there is in the industry. I’m really pleased with the standard of the award-winners and the capabilities that they have. The importance of shows like this is it carries industry together. It creates a bit internal competition as well, but it showcases capabilities of everybody that works across within the broad spectrum of Facilities Management. I would recommend the awards for people in facilities management to showcase their talent and it gives the chance to organisations to sit down and look at what they are actually doing for their clients.”
Another of this year’s winners was Mitie Facilities Management. Their managing director, Les Sheridan said, “We are delighted to win four awards, the recognition from our industry is something we are very proud of, and we know from previous years that all 2,000 of our colleagues take great pride seeing their work recognised. It was a brilliant night catching up with our industry leaders”
