IF you were to believe Ian Woosnam, it's the new "all talking, all singing" driver that the amateur has only been able to dream about until now.
This is the man with around 60 drivers locked away and gathering dust in his garden shed in Jersey, and who had 14 drivers specially flown in to Britain from the United States prior to last week's World Matchplay before de- ciding to use the Tegra tita- nium driver developed by a NASA engineer. So it was that Woosnam (who had a hand in the club's design, which has an unusual looking hosel angled like that of a Ping putter) sang the praises of the club at Wentworth.
"I can't give the driver a really big one at the moment, but at least I'm not blocking it right," said the Welshman after his first round victory over Jesper Parnevik. "I find I can drive straight if I take it nice and easy."
The club has a titanium head with an ultra-stiff shaft and is designed to encourage amateurs to draw the ball. Its arrival here is imminent.
