AFTER several intensive months of motorsport, at home and away, this is a fairly relaxed weekend. The mud pluggers take to the waters and the wild at the start of another winter season of off-road trials, with the Erskine twins most likely taking up where they left off dominating the sporting trials with their remarkable Harley Davidson Special.

The RIAC rallycross committee, headed by Kevin Twomey and Declan Grogan, has introduced a new winter series, as well as a three-round All-Ireland Championship.
