LORETO BRAY were denied the double of the Leinster Schools, senior and junior hockey cups when Wesley beat them in the junior final at Serpentine Avenue yesterday. A goal from Cheryl Cox decided the issue.

Wesley took the game to Loreto from the start and the only goal came in the fourth minute. Loreto fought valiantly but Wesley were superior in their stick skills and deserved their victory.

Wesley's success follows their victory in the minor cup on Monday. It also means that Wesley have won the junior trophy for four of the last five years.

Their junior cup win is also a slight revenge over Loreto, Bray, as Wesley's senior team were beaten in the semi finals by the Bray girls.
