Luis Suarez returns from an eight-match suspension, while Steven Gerrard is also back having been rested. New signing Louis Saha could make his Spurs debut with Jermain Defoe (hamstring) doubtful. Rafael van der Vaart (calf) and Emmanuel Adebayor (hamstring) are doubts.

WBA v Swansea
West Brom boss Roy Hodgson is weighing up whether to give full debuts to newcomers Liam Ridgewell and Keith Andrews. Steven Reid (ankle), Shane Long (digestive problem) and midfielder Paul Scharner (Achilles) are close to fitness. Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers has to decide whether to include new signing Curtis Obeng.

Newcastle v Aston Villa
Alan Pardew hopes to offer Papisss Demba Cissé, Newcastles new signing from Freiburg, a debut, quite possibly alongside his Senegal strike partner Demba Ba. Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor is again a major fitness doubt with back and hamstring spasms.

Wigan v Everton
Wigan welcome back key midfielder Mohamed Diame from the African Nations Cup. Striker Hugo Rodallega should be in contention to start along with David Jones (calf). New signings Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar are set to be included in Everton’s squad after joining on transfer deadline day. Seamus Coleman (thigh) remains out.

Stoke C v Sunderland
Stoke winger Matthew Etherington is a doubt after missing two days of training due to a virus. Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill will be without defender Wes Brown and midfielder David Vaughan but Sotirios Kyrgiakos is available to join fellow loan signing Wayne Bridge in the squad.

Manchester C v Fulham
Manchester City are again without suspended striker Mario Balotelli, but playmaker David Pizarro, signed on loan from Roma this week, is in contention. Mousa Dembele and Mark Schwarzer will return for Fulham. Pavel Pogrebnyak will not feature as he awaits international clearance.

Norwich v Bolton
Norwich will again be without left back Marc Tierney (groin), but centre back Elliott Ward, who returned froma knee injury in midweek could be included again. Ryo Miyaichi and Marvin Sordell could make their Bolton debuts, but fellow new arrival Tim Ream will not be considered.

Arsenal v Blackburn
Midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) will be assessed ahead of the game, but Carl Jenkinson (back), Andre Santos (ankle) and midfielder Abou Diaby (hamstring) are still out. New signings Bradley Orr and Marcus Olsson could make their Blackburn debuts, but striker Ayegbeni Yakubu is suspended.
