Juan Veron flew into England this afternoon to complete the formalities of his Stg£23.5 million transfer to Manchester United from Lazio.

The 26-year-old arrived at London's Gatwick airport from Buenos Aires before taking a private jet to Manchester where he will undergo a medical.

"We can confirm that Veron has arrived, but we can not say anything more at this stage other than he is having medical checks today," a United spokesperson said.

Manchester United are expected to hold a news conference tomorrow when they hope to present Veron to the media.

He is likely to have to wait two weeks before getting his British work permit, which will rule him out of the club's tour of the Far East later in July.
