Pebble Beach, June 2000 - Some said the tournament was over when Woods shot an opening round 65. Some players hadn't even teed off at that stage, but if it seemed too early to make such assertions, they were proved right.
When Woods finished his final round he was an astounding 15 shots clear of his closest pursuers. Tiger had eclipsed the record considered the most unobtainable, the 13 strokes by which Old Tom Morris had won the 1862 British Open.
