Clontarf sealed this match with three quick tries after the interval.

Turning over just 13-6 adrift, UCD must have thought they had a chance, but tries from number eight Ben Gissing and Alan Dignam set Clontarf up for victory. Right winger Daire Higgins scored shortly afterwards to put the matter beyond all doubt.

Clontarf opened the scoring with a powerful drive to give prop forward Adrian Clarke a try, however a spirited reply from UCD resulted in two penalties from outhalf Eoghan Hickey.

Clontarf's Higgins, who had been a threat all afternoon, scored his first try on the half hour and David O'Brien added a penalty.
