Mike Tyson's manager, Shelley Finkel, has revealed his fighter will meet world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis in April next year, a fight which boxing fans have being drooling about for years.
Lewis regained his undisputed world title by knocking out Hasim Rahman in the fourth round at the weekend and immediately set his sights on a long-awaited - and lucrative - meeting with former champion Tyson.
And Finkel confirmed the fight will happen "in April 2002" and will take place "in the US, probably Las Vegas" after Tyson faces Ray Mercer on January 19th.
"Mike will fight Ray Mercer first and then face Lewis," Finkel added on Sky Sports News.
Tyson, who has won 49 of his 52 fights, stopped Brian Nielsen in Copenhagen, Denmark, five weeks ago in his first fight for almost a year.
On the Tyson-Nielsen undercard, Mercer knocked out Brian Scott for his sixth straight win.
Mercer (39), has never been knocked out. He has lost to some good fighters, including Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield and Lewis.
Incidentally, on this day 15 years ago Tyson became the youngest world heavyweight champion when defeated Trevor Berbick at the age of 20 years and six months.
