Tough task for Scots

SCOTLAND will be aiming to emulate the Lions with a victory when they tackle Gauteng Lions in the second game of their six match tour of Southern Africa at Ellis Park in Johannesburg tonight.

The Scots opened their summer safari with a 55-10 win over Zimbabwe in Harare but face a much tougher task against a Gauteng side that was narrowly beaten 20-14 by the Lions.

And Scottish skipper Andy Nicol predicted: "It is a huge challenge to play against such a side. I believe that this is a game to carve out reputations."

But Nicol was keen to shake off the tag of underdogs his side has acquired going into the clash against Gauteng, who were formerly known as Transvaal.

"Don't forget that we're the international side and that they are a provincial team. We play a good brand of rugby," he said.
