Tiger Woods came to St Andrews as one of eight players to have won three of the four major professional championships. The other seven were: Walter Hagen (no Masters in 11 majors), Tom Watson (no USPGA in eight), Arnold Palmer (no USPGA in seven), Sam Snead (no US Open in seven), Lee Trevino (no Masters in six), Byron Nelson (no British Open in five) and Raymond Floyd (no British Open in four).
