THE humming hamlet of Annamoe in Co Wicklow is unusually quiet this Easter with John Boorman having gone to England, Paul McGuinness and Kathy Gilfillan in the Bahamas before U2's world tour gets underway, Paolo Tullio and his wife Susan Morley visiting Chris and Diane de Burgh in Wexford and Daniel Day Lewis being as elusive as ever. However, the long weekend might provide the perfect opportunity for Mia Farrow, who bought a house sight unseen in neighbouring Laragh, to catch her first glimpse of her new property.
Tullio, whose foodie travel book North of Naples, South of Rome was made into a successful TV series that has been bought by U channel, PBS, will be relaxing having just finished a second re write on his first novel, The Mushroom Man. The mushrooms of the title are all hallucinogenic ones - Tullio says he has saved all the normal flat capped ones for the impromptu Italian cookery lessons he hosts in his home.
