TERENURE College got their Leinster Junior Cup campaign off to an ideal start with a comprehensive victory over Catholic University School at Donnybrook yesterday.

Terenure's pack proved far too strong for CUS, and the ease with which centre Barry Flynn skipped past the CUS defence for a try after just three minutes showed their backs could convert possession into scores. Outside half Killian Jones added the conversion.

The one sided nature of the contest was underlined seven minutes later when flanker' Donnchadh Woulfe got a try following a forward drive from a line out.

A drive by full back Mark Duffy following a good break by number eight Anthony Kelly in the 18th minute, and another by Donal Dunlop five minutes later, gave Terenure an unassailable 22-0 lead at the break.

Any hopes of a CUS fightback were well and truly dashed when left wing Sean King dived over for a try in the first minute of the second half.

After Killian Jones added a blockdown try on 40 minutes, Terenure eased up, but CUS, despite the best efforts of captain Aidan Proctor and scrum half Felix Tam, could not get over for a try.

Donal Dunlop rounded off a good day's work for Terenure with his second try in the last minute.
