Fancy a trip to Sydney? If so don't try the 5,000 metres at the Kenyan Olympic trials, it's the hardest route to the Antipodes - and that's official.

Connie went down to Birr, Co Offaly, last weekend from the Castle Golf Club. She thought she'd give the Irish Ladies' Amateur Strokeplay Championship a go. Connie, or Kyung Hae Lee, is Korean and wants to become a professional.

It was her first time in a tournament where she had to play two rounds in one day followed by a final leg the day after and she felt quite tired. Connie shot 83, 80 and 76 on the Sunday for 239. For someone who only took up the sport four years ago, it wasn't bad scoring. Connie, who finished halfway down the field, is now 13 years old and has a handicap of six.
