National League Premier Division/Finn Harps 1, Bray Wanderers 2: Finn Park is certainly a happy hunting ground for Bray Wanderers' long-serving striker Kieran "Tarzan" O'Brien

Last season, at a time when both teams were pushing for promotion, he got the winner at the Ballybofey venue; on Saturday night he opened the scoring to put the seasiders on the way to a timely victory following four straight defeats.

"He likes scoring up here," Bray boss Pat Devlin noted.

"I'm delighted for him. He's only really in the team because Stephen Fox was out.

"Fourteen points from the first series of games is a good return and we will be happy if we can keep it going for the rest of the season, but there is a big gap between the big clubs and sides like ourselves, UCD and Finn Harps, who have small squads and limited financial resources."

Bray are now joint sixth and nine points clear of second-from-bottom Harps, who have managed just one win in 11 outings.

O'Brien's 18th-minute goal stemmed from a dreadful pass in midfield by Harps' Anthony Gorman, which was intercepted by Robbie McGuinness.

He played the ball through for O'Brien to run on to and fire past Gavin Cullen.

Eight minutes later it was 2-0 as the lively Eamon Zayed surged into the box and crossed for Philip Keogh to tuck the ball home from close range.

Kevin McHugh pulled one back on 67minutes for the home side.
