During the JP McManus Invitational in Limerick earlier this week, I had the pleasure of meeting Bob O'Meara. He recalled his visit to Portmarnock in 1987 when his son Mark finished in a share of ninth place behind Bernhard Langer in the Irish Open.
"I had some wonderful moments with Harry Bradshaw," he recalled. "Man, old Harry knew how to tell stories." And did he believe every word uttered by The Brad? "Of course, I knew he was dressing things up a little, but you've got to allow a good storyteller a bit of licence," he replied with a smile. And those who remember The Brad would agree wholeheartedly.
