CONNECTIONS remain tightlipped last night about the participation of Swain in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes tomorrow.
Sheikh Mohammed's racing manager Anthony Stroud walked the Ascot course this evening to check the current going but would not announce a decision until he contacts the colt's French trainer Andre Fabre.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed's other entry Singspiel was ruled out of tomorrow's big race. The four year old has suffered a slight setback but is not expected to be sidelined for long.
Song Of Tara is another whose participation has also been put in jeopardy by the firm surface at Ascot. Derby winner Shaamit is now clear favourite for the first time.
A William Hill spokesman said: Shaamit has been the best backed horse in the race and is now 2-1 from 9-4."
. Mark Prescott turned a Carlisle maiden winner into a Listed performer when producing Red Camellia to shatter the ambitions of the classicly bred Yashmak at Sandown yesterday.
Running in the red and white sashed colours of the Cheveley Park Stud, Red Camellia became the latest Prescott performer to advertise the owners' stallion Polar Falcon.
Red Camellia set up a Richard Quinn double he later scored on Clan Chief - by making all the running to beat Yashmak by two and a half lengths in the new juvenile track record.
. David Loder's Bin Rosie grabbed his share of French glory at Maisons Laffitte yesterday with a facile win in the Listed Prix Jacques de Bremont over a mile under Richard Hughes. Bin Rosie (evens) was in control throughout with the raider galloping home by two and a half lengths from La Fra Angelico. The former English filly, Bouche Bee, was a further three quarters of a length away in third.
