Trainer John Oxx sent out the winner of the featured Batterstown Handicap at Fairyhouse, but it was outsider D'Anjou rather than favourite Give A Whistle who landed the spoils.
The latter was backed from 2 to 1 to 6 to 4 but lost all chance when badly hampered in an incident just over 2f out that also resulted in an injury to Frosty Wind.
D'Anjou meanwhile avoided all the trouble, arriving with a sweeping run on the outside under Catherine Gannon to win going away by two lengths.
Apprentice find Pat Cosgrave enjoyed another good day, notching up a double aboard Cherry Falls and King's Opera.
