In the end, the second semi-final at Anglesea Road last night finished predictably enough with a win for St Mary's. However, the opening exchanges were tight with Fergal Campion for St Mary's and Barnhall out-half Colin Morgan cancelling each other out with two penalties each.
But shortly before half-time St Mary's crossed the Barnhall line when centre Gareth Gannon found room in the left hand corner. After the break Barnhall found themselves further behind when Gannon scored another try. But Barnhall then registered their only try of the game when Mark Crossan went over. St Mary's wrapped up the game midway through the second half when Kelvin McNamee scored under the posts.
