ST COLUMBA'S advanced to the Leinster Schools Senior Cup section A semi final with a workman like performance against plucky Mount Temple at Terenure yesterday.

Outside centre Will Passmore's dynamic running yielded an early try. Nicholas Wheeler landed the conversion and prop Charles Langley got a second try midway through the half.

A 28th minute Mark Adams penalty merely seemed an unwanted interruption to the St Columba's march as flanker Nicholas Patton mauled his way over just on half time to make it 17-3.

A try from Niall O'Carroll converted by Adams gave Mount Temple new impetus. But they were unable to break through again. Nick Fryday and prop Joseph Moran added further tries, converted by Wheeler, to ensure St Columba's passage to the last four.
