Soaked equalled the 20th century record of nine handicap wins in a year in Britain when well beating arch-rival Sihafi at Lingfield yesterday.
David Chapman's gelding made all under Tony Culhane to beat Ellway Prince by a length in the Southriver Tools & Fixings 15th Anniversary Handicap, with Sihafi, who is also in the nine mark, beaten over four lengths back in seventh place.
Earlier this week Soaked had beaten Sihafi into second place. Amateur jockey Ruth Clark, representing Chapman, her grandfather, said: "Soaked could be out for the outright record of 10 wins at Southwell next Tuesday.
