Sligo Rovers experienced little difficulty in disposing of Munster Senior League outfit Leeds AFC at the Showgrounds yesterday.

Sligo snatched a goal in each half and while Leeds lacked nothing in effort they lacked a cutting edge up front and rarely troubled a Sligo defence in which 17-year- old Steve Feeney gave a commanding performance.

It was Feeney who struck the opening goal after 12 minutes heading home from close range after Jim Sheridan had got a vital touch on Lee Marshall's inswinging corner.

From there on Sligo had things more or less their own way and Raffaele Cretaro was rewarded for a hardworking performance with his side's second goal in the 57th minute.

SLIGO ROVERS: Healy, Rossiter, Lally, Feeney, Sheridan, Gaffney, Cretaro, Dolan, Flannery, Marshall, Moran, Subs: O'Donoghue for Gaffney (70 mins), Glynn for Marshall (74 mins), Burke for Feeney (87 mins).

LEEDS AFC: Stokes, Collins, Quinlan, Martin, Donovan, Fitzgerald, Larkin, Yelverton, Galvin, Barry, McCarthy. Subs: Dowling for McCarthy (70 mins). Aherne for Collins (75 mins), Quirke for Galvin (77 mins).
